I have an 1994 Infiniti Q45 and it says that it needs premium gas. Does it absolutely need premium gas?

Gas is so expensive right now (I think right now it's about $4.50 for regular) and I am just wondering if I absolutely have to put in premium gas or if I could just use the regular kind. Thanks in advance for your help!
