well, being exploited and manipulated by rich, powerful countries for resources sure hasn't helped. these countries have pitted the african people against each other to help divide and conquer. pay off a few corrupt megalomaniacs at the top, have them hire goons to control the mes-you got it made. just like the u.s. has done in places like guatemala and panama, and others.
